2. Who can use DIGAMS?

DIGAMS is designed for clinicians, pharmacists, laboratory professionals, health facilities, community health programs, and public health or research partners.

3. What problems does DIGAMS solve?

DIGAMS helps improve access to laboratory diagnostics, support evidence-based treatment decisions, reduce inappropriate antibiotic use, improve coordination between clinics, pharmacies, and laboratories, and strengthen antimicrobial resistance surveillance.

4. Does DIGAMS replace clinicians?

No. DIGAMS supports healthcare professionals with data and recommendations, but clinical decisions remain the responsibility of licensed healthcare providers.

Privacy & Security

5. Does DIGAMS collect personal health information?

Yes. DIGAMS may process patient and health-related information necessary for healthcare delivery, diagnostics, and treatment support.

6. How is patient data protected?

DIGAMS uses encryption, secure access controls, audit logging, role-based permissions, secure cloud infrastructure, and regular monitoring and security updates.

7. Who can access patient data?

Only authorized personnel with approved roles and responsibilities can access patient information.

8. Does DIGAMS share patient data with third parties?

DIGAMS only shares data with authorized healthcare providers, laboratories, partners, or researchers where necessary and legally permitted. Personal data is not sold.

9. Can patients request access to their data?

Yes. Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, individuals may request access, correction, or restriction of their personal data.

11. How does the laboratory referral process work?

DIGAMS enables healthcare providers to request laboratory tests digitally, track sample movement, receive results electronically, and support timely clinical decision-making.

12. What types of laboratory tests are supported?

Available tests depend on connected partner laboratories and facility configurations, including microbiology, culture and sensitivity, and other diagnostic services.

13. Can DIGAMS work in facilities without laboratories?

Yes. DIGAMS supports referral and coordination with external partner laboratories.

14. What happens if internet connectivity is unstable?

DIGAMS supports offline workflows in selected modules. Data can synchronize once connectivity is restored.

15. How does DIGAMS AI work?

DIGAMS AI analyzes available clinical and diagnostic information to support treatment recommendations and stewardship decisions.

16. Are AI recommendations always correct?

No AI system is perfect. Recommendations should always be reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals alongside patient history, diagnostics, and clinical guidelines.

17. Does DIGAMS follow national treatment guidelines?

DIGAMS is designed to align with applicable clinical guidelines, antimicrobial stewardship principles, and local health system workflows.

21. Is DIGAMS used for research?

22. Is research data anonymized?

Where appropriate, data used for research and analytics is anonymized or pseudonymized to protect privacy.
